Busy. With a capital B. I struggle to remember what happened a few hours ago...and attempting to think about last week I can only conjure blurred memories of people, projects, and taxi rides. Life in Mbale is full of responsibility, frustration, blurred lines, cultural barriers, strange food, and long days. The good news is that is all countered with grateful moments, happy experiences, funny instances, and appreciated changes. The good Always (with a capital A) outweighs the bad. Today's agenda might give you a small glance into what one day is like for me here.
Wake up 6 am
Breakfast with the elders 7 am
Go to Afya to build latrines 8 am
Carry bricks and dig path 9 am
Plaster walls of latrine a10 am
Take cow milk with Miriam 11 am
Shower, change clothes, go to St. Stephens 12 pm
Teach sex education lesson 1 pm
Ride taxi back to Mbale town 2 pm
Take Ashton to doctor 3:30 pm
Go with Stephanie to buy moon beads 5:30 pm
Come back to house for dinner 7 pm
Meet with team and discuss days activities 8 pm

Bed 10 pm
As in it is 10 pm right now. My bed is calling my name.
P.s. If you would have told me three months ago that I would be here, in Mbale, Uganda, working, and going to bed at 10 pm... I would have laughed in your face. Not in my wildest dreams, eh? Go figure.
